August 25 - 31, 2025
ECLIPSE SEASON: With the New Moon now behind us, we have crossed the threshold into our second eclipse season of 2025. The first eclipse on the agenda is a Total Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon in Pisces on September 7. The second event will be a Partial Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Virgo on September 21.
Throughout eclipse season, life can feel somewhat surreal, even as we continue to manage the realities of our physical world and the emotional fluctuations that always seem to be part of the eclipse package. Significant, even history-making, global events often occur during this period.
Happenings in our personal lives around the time of an eclipse can feel destined or somehow karmic. We often have the sense that we are completing an important phase of our lives, clearing the way for new developments. I'll be writing more about the specific intentions and purposes of each of these upcoming eclipses in the next few issues of this Journal.
COSMIC SUPPORT: Two longer-term, harmonious planetary aspects are exact to the degree this week: the Pluto-Sedna trine perfects for the fourth time on August 27, and a Uranus-Neptune sextile perfects for the first time on August 28.
Pluto and Sedna are both associated with a process of detoxification and transfiguration, a letting go of old forms so that a major shift can occur. The two dwarf planets are also linked to the use and abuse of power, as well as darker themes such as betrayal and deception.
As the Psychotherapist planet, one of Pluto's roles while in Aquarius is to shed a light on how societies have maintained control by creating fear. When these underlying motivations are exposed, they no longer hold the same power as before. Meanwhile, Sedna's role as the planet of Spiritual Metamorphosis is to encourage and compel us to release old identities that have kept us in victim consciousness.
The trine between these two dwarf planets has been working with us since early 2024. However, with Sedna now conjunct Uranus in mentally active Gemini and the powerful Uranus-Pluto trine adding its energies to the mix, we are experiencing this process of transformation even more consciously.
Also this week, Uranus is exactly sextile Neptune. Since this aspect can be more subtle in its effects, we must be intentional when we tap into its energies and claim its gifts. As the planet of Divine Mind and the planet of Divine Love work together, we can experience an awakening of the intuition and an increase in our ability to access other dimensions. Our minds are more open to mystical experiences and to receive insights and information from unusual or unexpected sources. Dreams may be especially symbolic or inspiring now, and our imaginings can lead to important breakthroughs.
DAILY ASPECTS THIS WEEK (August 25 - 31, 2025):
Here are my brief interpretations of this week's most important aspects, day by day:
Monday
Venus enters Leo: The planet of Love and Beauty will travel through warmhearted Leo from August 25 to September 19 this year. During this time, we may be especially generous in sharing our feelings and our resources. We might be drawn to those who bring out a playful or creative side of our natures. The need for attention and validation can be a strong motivation when creating and maintaining relationships.
Mercury trine Ceres, Mercury sesquiquadrate Neptune: Although communications with loved ones are supported today, we may not reach the level of clarity or understanding we had hoped to achieve.
Venus trine Saturn: This aspect helps us be realistic and mature in our relationships with others. We are able to both enjoy the present moment and plan for the future.
Tuesday
Jupiter semisquare Sedna: There may be a tendency to fall into old victim behaviors now, or to take things personally.
Venus sextile Uranus, Venus trine Neptune, Venus sextile Sedna, Venus opposite Pluto: We are drawn to take risks and to follow our hearts today. However, blindly following our passions, or getting caught up in the romance, could lead to problems.
Wednesday
Pluto trine Sedna: Pluto and Sedna were exactly trine three times in 2024. After today, the aspect perfects one more time, on November 4, 2025.
Thursday
Uranus sextile Neptune: This inspirational sextile between Uranus and Neptune is exact again on November 20, 2025 and on July 15, 2026.
Friday
No major aspects are exact today.
Saturday
Mercury trine Eris: We are comfortable speaking our truth today, even if our words spark controversy.
Sunday
Mars opposite Ceres: Some could be combative today, due to feeling that they must fight to have their needs met.
Mercury trine Chiron: Conversations today may involve sharing deeper feelings or revealing lifelong insecurities. Our words—and our ability to listen with an open heart—can have a strong healing effect.

An underlying restlessness inspires you to break from your usual routines and to experiment with new ways of expressing yourself this year. Surprising insights and radical new perspectives are possible. A new awareness of what you truly need and want may challenge you to make significant changes in some area of your life.
